Also, what kind of power plants are they currently using?
Mostly hydro and nuclear, apparently.

This may actually be a viable plan, if the cost of electric cars ever drops to par with a shitty used beater.

It just might be.

I can't imagine this happening in the States, though. I mean, during every heat-wave we've got millions that lose power. Imagine adding everybody charging their vehicles to that...

It's just 30 amps per household for 5-7 hours a night! Minor!

If we'd stop being so goddamn paranoid about nuclear, that wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, not too long ago, the cleanliness of electric overall largely negated these kinds of moves, but renewable energy is booming.

I'm definitely in favor of Nuclear!!! Elizabeth Warren isn't so hot on it, though .... :(

My only other concern is how having all these car batteries would impact the environment. How do you properly dispose of all these lithium ion batteries? Are they safe?

Lithium battery recycling doesn't seem to exist yet. It's going to have to fairly soon.

Are they safe?

Have they calculated the increased usage on their power plants to meet the demand of everyone powering their vehicles at home?
Also, what kind of power plants are they currently using?

we just shut down two nuclear reactors, and they're already warning about electricity shortages in Stockholm.

like, i want this to be a success, but all of that, accompanied with the constant increases on Bus and Train ticket prices is not a good base for it
