My last name is long, and hard to pronounce, and not pleasing to the tongue.

Don't do it. Just keep your respective names or add the other as a middle name. Hyphenated names are a hassle on form submissions and such.

Nope, my last name sounds catchy, especially since it alliterates with my first name.

I'd rather take her last name than this tbh.

Imagine if you marry someone who also has a hyphenated name. Would you have four last names with three hyphens?

traditionally, in my culture, the last name is seen less of a surname and more as just another name, and both people keep their own names.

more and more people are taking on surname/family names, though, but it's not really a thing in my family.

but if I ever get married, and my wife really wanted me to take her last name, I don't think that I'd mind.

Yeah I wouldn't mind any of that tbh. It's not even an issue to me.

Don't do this as somebody that has a hyphenated name. My life has been difficult when it come to documentation or government names. I hate my parents gave me a bullshit as hyphenated last name and I never used them both neither I just dropped one to make my life easier.

I'd only take my lady's name if if sounded cooler than mine, but since mines sounds better then no.

My male coworker is taking is fiancs last name. Hes Asian/Jamaican but looks Hispanic. Shes Hispanic, so he figured taking her Hispanic last name would make sense.

Its progressive. Im cool with it.

Not the biggest fan of my last name, so maaaybe if my wife's name is really cool, or if she has a name with influence. I don't mind if my wife (hypothetical) double-barreled her name though to retain hers.
