The 20th anniversary edition for Switch that lets you switch between the original and HD graphics.

Anything I should know? This game is barely ever discussed here, but I wanted it because it's a momentous step in the artistic evolution of gaming and all that. It also looks pretty as hell.

Nice.
This was one of those games that were way ahead of it's time.
You'll be dying. A LOT.
But if you stick with it, you'll enjoy it in the long run.
You'll be trying out many things throughout your adventure as you figure things out.

I assume it's worth a blind playthrough? I hate endlessly dying in adventure games unless there's little backtracking

Definitely worth a blind playthrough and backtracking is very minimal.

Definitely not a backtracking kind of game

I have never gotten the love for this title, outside of the graphics.

Its like the next step up from Dragons Lair gameplay-wise

So I just beat the game in a morning. That was fantastic. I was going to say it was cool but it wasn't "fun"...until I realized I played through it without stopping for like 4 hours.

The art and sound design and atmosphere are not overhyped. I get why this is in the MoMA considering it was made 30 years ago.

I would also propose nominating Buddy for the next character battle. He did star in the Sega CD sequel, after all!

It wasn't fun for me. But I enjoyed it as an experience and an academic intereet. Some of the stuff is trial and error which was standard for the time, but still very annoying and tried my patience.

I had to use YouTube a few times for some of the more esoteric puzzles. But it didn't really take away from the experience.

I think the worst one was near the end and involved like a grenade or something.

Yeah, you had to kill the guard a certain way that his grenade blows up a hole in the ground. That took some problem solving even with a video.
