if you go to Amazon, and search "free eBooks", you'll see a pretty big selection, iirc.

and a lot of older books that are public domain can be downloaded for free. they're under "Amazon Classics Edition".

stuff like, Dracula, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Moby Dick, etc.

Soooo, I legit don't know how to work this thing. There isn't a "Home" button like on my phone. I started to read a bit of a book, just to test it out, but have zero clue on how to either get back to my main menu of books I have

I'm on page 5 of a book, for example, and I can't even get back to the main menu. I double tap the screen and it makes the text bigger, making in harder to even tell what is going on

I push the ONE button on the bottom of it and it makes it dim

I hold that button down and it asks me if I want to reset the entire thing

I pull two fingers apart to un zoom or pull them together to zoom in, and nothing

I can't figure this thing out

On Audible I can search by chapters very easily, but on this. . .it's very slow and clunky. Like it's on a worse Internet connection than Audible. I simply don't get it

It costs a monthly fee but kindle unlimited is very good, I assume it works on a paperwhite.

Yeah, it can be annoyingly slow. I've come to prefer reading on it over print books, though. If you're looking for a case, the ones with a strap handle in the back make it more comfortable to hold with one hand.

Also, If you have Amazon Prime you get access to Prime Reading. You can check out 10 books at a time to read for free. I haven't used it much, but it's worth pointing out in case you want to check it out.

If you read a lot, Kindle Unlimited is the netflix of ebooks. There's a deal right now to get 3 months for $1 (regularly $30) just fyi

I think, once I'm sober, I'm going to just have to use my computer and just load up my library and learn just take books from there.

Once I have your attention, I still don't seem to be able to look at things by chapter. Since press the top of the screen takes me to my home and there was no way to see that on the screen, is there a way to just go to a chapter's list?

BTW, a little off topic, I asked for this because I thought I could tap a word and it would bring up what it meant, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Unless I'm missing something. . .

There's places like project gutenberg that have a free selection of public domain books, if you check your kindle options it should have created an email address specifically for it. You can download on your pc and email them to your kindle
