Both are amazing with stories that'll have you gripped. Steins;Gate is a sci-fi time travel story. Chaos;Child is a psychological horror/murder mystery.
You can read Chaos;Child without reading Chaos;Head - it's not a sequel. You'll just miss out on a few minor references. All you need to know is that there was an earthquake 6 years ago which flattened pretty much all of Shibuya. I'd read Steins;Gate before Chaos;Child however. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Steins;Gate came out first. You're not really missing much playing one or the other first but I would start with SG either way
