Do you wish Sony and Nintendo had formed a joint venture at least once back then?

The ultra rare "Nintendo Playstation" hybrid console that was never meant to be is being up for auction online and is expected to sell for MILLIONS as it's the ONLY CONSOLE left in its EXISTENCE!!

The "SNES Playstation" prototype is the last of only 200 that were made during the failed joint venture between the 2 giants, Nintendo and Sony. The creation of the SNES console completes with a game cartridge slot and CD-ROM disc drive with the help from Sony are in both working order...

The unreleased console that features Sony branding and the first use of the word "Playstation" marks Sony's first entry into the video game market in the early 1990s and it's eventual rise to gaming superiority

Unfortunately, disputes between the 2 cancelled the project and Sony went on to launch it's own console with the successful Playstation 1994

The 199 other prototypes were DESTROYED when the partnership soured and Nintendo walked away...leaving just this one hybrid left in the world

The bidding war for this console begins in February and is held by Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas

Heritage says "At one point, this dual branded prototype's existence was a mere myth. Now this prototype is fated to be ea coveted centrepiece in one person's collection"

It was owned by the founder and first CEO of Sony, Olaf Olaffson who later became a member of the board of directors at Advanta

When he left Advanta, he left this behind and it was acquired by a worker when the company went bankrupt

The CD-ROM drive didn't initially work but they were able to restore it to working condition and Terry Diebold, the Advanta worker who had this prototype has kept it in possession ever since..

He told Kotaku that he turned down 1.2 MILLION from "someone in Norway" but now he's ready to part ways with it as Valarie McLeckie, the Heritage's director of video games told Kotaku that this item will be a HOT SELLER.

Heritage also auctioned copies of Legend of Zelda for 20,000 smackers and the original mega man for 75,000

Do you wish Sony and Nintendo had joined forces at least once back then?
