It was a beautiful ending to the saga. I don't know what all the idiots online expect out of these movies.

I don't understand how people act like TFA is good and this is bad. TFA is a completely worthless movie.

It was solid. I just wish they cut some stuff out or added a few minutes to the film. It just seems to run really fast. Kylo sacrificing himself is supposed to be played off as a huge emotional beat but instead of giving it time to breathe, the movie is over literally 5 minutes later and nobody mentions him again

I'm personally really disappointed about how they executed the Emperor returning, especially since JJ was in charge of TFA. It's quite clear that they had no clue how to round out this trilogy from the beginning.

Also, I really enjoyed TLJ and I'm even more disappointed that JJ decided to rely on an old character actually returning, rather than let Daisy and Adam carry the movie, because they definitely could. They could have designed a movie about the struggles of Kylo as the Supreme Leader, and woven in Palpatine possessing him slowly through Vader's mask, instead of actually being in the flesh. They could have drawn on concepts from Jedi Knight 3, where Marka Ragnos possessed Tavion at the end of the game.

That would have been much, much better I think. It would have given the audience, way more Kylo and Rey without all the needless jumping around plot points. It could have been a very straightforward movie focusing on, what I think is the best aspect of Star Wars as a whole, Kylo and Rey's relationship.

Also, another indicator of the joke that this production team was in terms of well written story: JJ Himself introduced the concept that Snoke, Kylo, and the Knights of Ren were a different division of dark side force users, not involved with the Sith. The name Ren being that of who they worship. That was an awesome idea and they completely dropped it in return of the Sith actually returning via Palpatine. Some pure hack jobs at Disney and Lucasfilm forsure.
