The combat is so fluid and Bayonetta is fast and fun to control.

But what was even going on with the story? Also it's insane that there's so much lore packed into those books that you pick up, for an action game. The developer must have really gone all out with this game.

Bayo 2 is so great that it made me like bayo 1 much less.

After playing 2, I have so much less patience for bayo 1's bullshit

As someone who's still not been able to touch Bayonetta 2 (but has played the crap outta the first game), aside from the new Umbra super mode (whatever the game calls it), what did they do to the combat in comparison to the first?

Bayonetta 2 was great but I'm not sure I agree with it being better (or worse)
than 1. They upped the ante but as a result I don't remember many regular levels and minion battles. It was like 70% boss battles and the Umbran Climax mode kinda trivialized most lesser encounters.

I don't like the QTEs in Bayonetta (not unexpected considering the era it came out in) but what is so radically different about Bayonetta 2? I hope I'll still like it (gonna wait a year or so before playing it)

Well, Bayonetta 2 gets rid of the blink-and-you'll-die QTEs so that's good.

And like I said, most of the game is boss fights and large enemies so it'll have a grander feeling like the stakes are higher. The story's easier to follow too.

I felt like Bayo 1 had a lot of boss fights too but also it seems shorter than most DMC games. There's only 16 missions when DMC games usually give us 20.
