After years of pageant queen winners who were more progressive and open to changing the rules of the Miss America pageant, the top 2 women in the finals were not so in tune with the change as they were more TRADITIONAL who believed in keeping with tradition by NOT allowing women who were married or had kids to be in the pageant as well as not wanting to be more inclusive to drop portions of the competition such as the much divisive swimsuit portion.

One of the judges even said that he DISAGREED with their responses in the new "job interview" portion of the competition and said they were open to making changes that reflects a changing america.

But was 24 y/o Virginia Biochemist, Camille Schrier who came out on top after wowing the crowd with her science as she dressed in a lab coat giving colourful chemistry demonstration that gave her the top honour and beat out 50 other contestants from various states..
