CGP Grey is great! I really liked his video on split brain syndrome.

But anyway... your post comes off as "if you're not with us you're against us", which I already mentioned.

Genuinely curious, what are your issues with centrists/independents?
Watch the video.

Watch the video.

I've seen it before, but I just watched it again... as far as I understood it... a two party system doesn't fairly represent the populace, and gerrymandering makes the situation worse. We could add more candidates for people to vote for (rather than only two per election) but it'll inevitably lead back to the situation we're in now.

...so that makes holding a view somewhere in the middle bad? Again, not poking fun... but not understanding.

Constantly repeating both sides are bad is pointless. Vote for candidates who want to change the system with the system like Bernie Sander's campaign finance reform.

Hm... sounds like I wasn't clear or was misunderstood.

When I said "vocal minority on each side", I'm talking about the extreme ends of either side, not the entirety of either side, so again, if it came off as "both sides are bad, wholesale" that wasn't my intention.

Point being, the extreme ends of either side don't account for (or completely ignore) the fact that there are people who hold views that fall on both sides of the aisle, or centrists... and that's not because those centrists think both sides of the aisle are bad... it's because nothing in life is as clear-cut as we'd like it to be.

And to your point about Bernie, he was my guy in 2016 before... whatever it is that happened to him, happened. Then I became disillusioned and didn't vote at all. The video you posted even mentions this, right around the five minute mark...

"The better a third party candidate does, the more it hurts that third party candidates own voters, by guaranteeing a loss for the party they agree with, and a win for the party they most disagree with."

This is getting too long, so alls I'm saying is, I definitely don't have all the answers, or any that may be even closely to correct.... but when the vocal extremes tell me "I'm part of the problem" for not being on either one of their teams (not saying you're on either of those extremes, either) it only stands to hurt them, and at worst, may push otherwise innocent people to those extremes where they'll become just as entrenched and closed off to alternative views.

Back to your original point that "centrists are annoying because they never listen".... on that I'll disagree. I'm a centrist because when I do listen, especially these days, all I hear is the screeching of each extreme end. It's tough to cut through that noise... but I'm trying.

Bernie didn't run as a third party candidate. He threw his support behind Hillary Clinton even though she, Debbie Schultz, and the DNC underhandedly used there super delegate vote to dissuade voting for Bernie.

Bernie supporters would understandably be unenthusiastic for Hillary. I still voted for her even though I'm not in a swing state.

Nah you're right, I caught that after I posted... but the way he was treated, kinda made him feel like a third party candidate, at least to me.

Even that.. it's like... who do you prefer I pay attention to? What am I to prove? I post about it all the time... if you wanna rile up a republican, talk about impeachment/gun rights being revoked... if you wanna rile up a democrat, talk about 'the wall' or immigration.

Meanwhile, people still dying from addiction, the outrageous price of health care, the fact that there aren't enough teachers (and that they're under paid), while the cost of school is getting higher and higher and wages remain stagnant. Tech conglomerates ride roughshod with our personal data and get a slap on the wrist when they inevitably leak our personal data and exploit us... no punishment what so ever.

And all we're told is "it may not be the best system, but it's better than any other"... yeah, but it's getting worse. And I'm not over here saying "tear it all down! Anarchy in the US!" but this system doesn't work for enough people, only those with enough ca$h.

What about you...? What do you do to prove you're paying attention?

I regret not voting in my primary last cycle (can't vote for the president in the main election as I live in a territory) but man was it a killjoy watching what happened to Bernie in the Democratic side. I wouldn't have voted for Clinton if could because of all that happened, to hell with the greater good if that's what it means.

This primary season, I'll be sure to have my Voter's Registration ID ready. So I can vote for Yang.

Yeah, because 24 hours a day for three years of 'DONALD TRUMP IS A RUSSIAN ASSET! WE HAVE A BILLION PAGES OF IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE! THE PEE TAPE EXISTS! COMEY IS A NATIONAL HERO, AND HIS FIRING IS OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE!' didn't turn out to be literally fake news, right?

If Don ever shut up and got off Twitter to do his job maybe people would stop reacting to him.

Dying from addiction - Democrats lean toward regulations on pharmaceutical companies.
Healthcare - Democrats have been pushing healthcare reform.
Teachers- Bernie Sanders wants to change how we fund schools so it not mostly property taxes.
School - I'm a broken record at this point.
