Instead of spending needlessly on foreign wars, care and policing issues that are not our problems? We should focus on providing free or affordable healthcare for all and education that is reasonable.

Yes but your argument kind of fails because it assumes "wars, care, and policing" don't help a state's citizens. There are numerous examples throughout history where foreign affairs and activity abroad directly benefited the citizens of a state.
