She lives over an hour away and I haven't been to a "video game store" since GTA5 came out and I don't even remember how long it had been then since the last time.

Of course. Was a constant battle for me since Mom hated me spending money on ANY new games so it was pretty rare she'd take me. I often had to ride my bike to the local KMart to get whatever they had in stock but sometimes I'd get a trip to Babbages and Toys R Us and look at the selection (aging myself here).
When the SNES came out, Mom made me sell my NES and all the games to pay for it as a deal...except the store wouldn't take the NES since it did the green-screen thing on startup and I kept a few games like gold LoZ or Mike Tyson's Punch Out since I knew they were rare. ... Copied to Clipboard!

when i lived in the boonies. i had to ask for rides to get to the stores but i mainly ordered my games online back then so that part wasn't an issue.
the boonies sucked (crappy internet and the nearest town was 5 miles away). thinking back i could easily walk that if my stamina was much more improved. really out of shape before pokemon go. --- The act of treachery is an art, but the traitor himself is a piece of **** - Mike Tyson ...
