This is such a dumb interpretation imo.

The Jedi were destroyed because they allowed the dark side to burgeon within themselves. They were corrupted with fear, stemming from the corruption within the Republic Senate. It's why their ability to use the force was diminishing during (and presumably before) the prequels, and part of why Anakin succumbed to he dark side in the first place. If destroying the Jedi helped bring balance to the Force, it's because he destroyed an order which no longer properly adhered to the tenants of the light, and needed to be destroyed as too many would become corrupted by the dark if they were allowed to live.

Additionally, are we to assume that the force was out of balance for the thousand years that the Republic stood because there were "too man jedi, only two sith"? There really is nothing in the original six that suggests this. In general the idea of the "gray jedi" in the EU is dumb af. The dark side is literally a lack of self control, giving into base desires rather than wisdom, being too impatient to wait for the proper time to do things, etc.

If part of the idea of a "grey Jedi" is a Jedi that can marry, whatever. I doubt adhering to the light side actually requires not having a family. It was likely enforced by the order because the pain of losing them could often lead people to the dark side, not that having a family was part of the dark side itself.

No balance was to destroy the sith as the dark side was considered a corruption and unnatural which is why no sith could become a force ghost.

I probably shouldn't say dumb, tbh. But imo there is very little to justify that there was "too much light, not enough dark" in the original six, nor is there any thematic or philosophical reason to justify that they must coincide.

In the EU there are different interpretations of the force that make that sort of idea make sense. But they are not the force as presented in the OT and PT imo.

Luke and friends had family in the EU and even advocated that was one of the biggest issues with the Jedi order before the Empire

I can't remember all the details but the fact that it worked out for that most part proved that the old Jedi order was flawed. They thought restricting love would help when it only made it worse
