i read that bruce lee's daughter is upset at tarrantino, because of how her father bruce lee was portrayed in the movie. Those of you who have seen it, do you agree with her?

Bruce does not get his ass kicked in the movie. He and Cliff both get a point in a best 2 out of 3. The whole idea is to show that Cliff can hold his own with Bruce Motherfucking Lee in a fight so that you know what he is capable of later in the movie. It's a compliment to Bruce.

they make bruce lee look like a total joke in the movie but it's also a very fictional film, so personally i dont think theres much impact other than maybe hurt feelings for bruce lee's daughter.

terrible movie btw, easily the worst tarantino film i've ever seen

People that knew him said it was a very accurate portrayal.

Yeah, Bruce Lee would actually pick fights like that. I thought it was a great portrayal. He got embarrassed but the fight was broken up before any real damage.

This is very clearly the intent of the scene, so no, it's not demeaning to Bruce in the slightest. The whole purpose of the film is to be a contemporary fairy tale, with Cliff and Rick as the protagonists, of course it's going to be a little over the top and hyperbolic with showing the abilities of its lead characters. The film never pretends to be an accurate, historical take on literally anything, considering the main characters don't exist, and Sharon Tate, y'know, actually dies in real life.

She wants to try and say the film is claiming that Bruce was actually an arrogant shit bag, when almost nothing else in the film is realistic. It's hypocritical and a blatant, intentional misinterpratation of the film to stir up controversy that doesn't exist.
