Maybe it's not that deep, but is there any recognized supplier with the fairest dice or something?

It isn't some super important high stakes gambling where it will matter if the dice are not 100% fair.

Just get something you think looks cool.

Or get dice there are hard to read from a distance so you can lie to the DM.

Yep I got dark dice for this.

There are dice companies that advertise how well balanced their dice are, but Ive never bothered.

Buying a single set will lead to disappointment because superstition will dictate that you believe the dice you picked are garbage.

i usually buy the big ass bags of random dice. I then roll the fuck out of them, find the ones that feel lucky and put out good results.

I usually roll them all at the beginning of a session to see which ones are hot.

On an objective level, none of this matters.

Superstition will still occur. I have a pink speckled d20 that only comes out in the most dire circumstances. Overuse it at your peril. It giveth and it taketh away. Sometimes other people at the table will call for it. It has a whole mythology.

I've heard that sometimes die that have a swirl of colors can sometimes end up kind of weighted. Not sure how true it is, but aside from that possibility, just pick dice you think look the best.

Gamescience has built a reputation for supposedly having especially fair dice, but honestly, despite rolling dice a lot in D&D, you still don't roll them enough for random die bias to make a significant difference.

Loaded dice do exist, but any die loaded heavily enough to make a difference in D&D will feel weird in your hands. Like, really weird; I've held a set, and it's unmistakable. It's not like Vegas. You can't afford to be subtle; there aren't enough rolls for that.

I typically buy 2 sets for a new character, unless I have a set that already matches with them. But at the end of the day, superstition conquers all. Got a lucky d6 I lost at my friend's place but found when I was tripping balls.

Just know that there's gonna be one check you'll always roll shitty on, and accept it

Honestly?

Make your own set. Its super easy and you'll be far more satisfied with the result. Those two vids can pretty well walk you thru it, but the guy's whole channel is basically dice making if you want to learn more.

Definitely check it out later. The vids are like 10ish minutes each and are very interesting. Forgot one tho:

That's the vid where he finishes up the set he made in the second vid I linked.

as someone who sells them for a living - don't be the one who opens the sets and rolls them on the counter to see which ones "feel lucky". Please; I beg you.

it's fine. basically just buy, price and flip magic cards all day. just don't take a job like it if you still like to actually play the games. I went from 3-4 drafts a week plus 7 hours of board gaming to one draft every few weeks to make the last one of the night fire.
