It is more that it is beautiful in its meaning than its design. Like before the Nazis perverted it it used to at least be associated with peace. Another example I can think of off the top of my head is Ying and Yang. Sure any kid can draw it but the symbolism and the imagery is more powerful than its design.

I also find it VERY curious that these free speech absolutists never have anything to say about the actual nazis in these stories. Supporting a political ideology that wants to genocide people seems to be a much more significant affront to free speech than throwing milk shakes or vandalizing nazi "artwork."

Nobody has addressed this, and I doubt duncan will change his mind as a moral absolutist, but yes judgment in policing is a good thing. Zero tolerence is idiotic.
You ran 1 second over your parking meter - not worth a ticket. Jaywalking - almost always perfectly fine. You accidentally stole a pack of gum - not worth policing.

Is this case worth policing? I would say so if they happen to catch the vandals. But only so many cases can be followed and this should not be a priority. And if the "vandals" are caught, they should receive a small fine or small community service.

Meanwhile, people should continue to give this guy as much shit as possible. He deserves it.

Laws aren't black and white, nor are they necessarily tied to morality (Breaking curfew is illegal, but there is nothing morally wrong with being out late at night if you're not bothering anyone).

No one is calling you a Nazi, it's just that you seem too focused on the law in this particular instance.
