The players performance is the Coaches responsibility.

Some coaches make really stupid decisions that cost their teams games at important times. Some coaches are toxic which leads to the players disliking them and not playing to their best ability for them.

But in the latter case, it's absolutely the players' fault. They're not paid to play for the coach, they're paid to play for the organization. They're just throwing the coach under the bus then.

Its the easiest change to make.

I find it weird though when scrub ass rebuilding teams fire their coaches quickly when they barely have anything to work with to do anything meaningful lol

Because its it's their system and it's easier to fire one guy than completely rework an entire roster.
