oh yeah. in 2009, on my 21st birthday, i had to appear in court to possibly testify as a witness to a crime my college TA committed. we had take a writing exam in order to continue to the next level of english classes, and the TA said he worked for that office and convinced the professor to let him collect the test fees in class and administer the test there.

then it turned out after he turned the tests in, he kept all the money.

so any way i spent all day in a court house waiting to testify, then was told to come back tomorrow. what a waste.

i was called the next day. it was pretty much identifying him as the TA and telling the judge what he promised to do. his lawyer's only defense was "yeah but at least the tests were turned in"

he got 70 years in jail (apparently this is not his first time committing fraud)

ah, i built my first gaming pc in the summer of 2009.

ah, my deepest shame.

so i said i was a journalism major right? well at the time i was horribly shy.

i had gone to the next level of journalism which was reporting. our first assignment, and most assignments, were to go out to an area and interview 10 people and find a story and write about it.

i couldn't bring myself to interview people. so i just made up stories based on what i was reading on twitter or just other news articles online.

except my professor wanted proof of these people i interviewed. meaning names and numbers.

so, i just made up individual email addresses with a story that thats all people would give me. i would watch those accounts just in case the professor would contact them.

anyway i did this for about 2 stories, and then i just stopped going to class. i got a NC (no credit) instead of an F so it didn't affect my GPA.

dont worry i changed majors.

i read all my emails about applying to the study abroad program. what memories. i had to get 2 faculty letters of rec and sort out how my classes would transfer (so i decided to declare a minor with the east asian studies department).

the first professor responded right away. i remember meeting with him and having fill out all the paperwork.

the second professor didn't reply at all. i waited and waited and finally i emailed her again and she told me to get over there cuz she was leaving for a conference and shed be gone for an entire week, and would miss the deadline.

we managed to sort everything out so thats a relief. just crazy how i almost didn't go to korea.

i wonder how my life would have been had i not gone.

the winter of 2010 was really shit. my school misfiled my paperwork so it didn't have me as a student my second semester in korea. so im half way across the world and i get told all my student loans are due and ive been dropped from all my classes.

also why did i keep having to reset my battle.net account? i have like 10 emails saying its been locked and i had to change my password. i remember playing WoW: Cata a lot and Starcraft 2...
