GGs. The connection was getting bad at times and thought it might be somewhat due to me so I dipped.

I dont really main any character, but I like some enough to play regularly like Ness, Banjo, and Ganondorf.

I dont bother with quickplay anymore. I have zero characters in elite and I'd rather not subject myself to the torture that is laggy lucas players spamming at the ledge. Arenas are decent enough for me.

I believe you. My biggest gripe with online is how sluggish everything feels at times. When I play online, for example, I can only get upthrow to upair or nair with Inkling less than 50% of the time while offline I almost always get it. It can also feel hard to hit your opponent sometimes. Most pros say to only use online for MU experience and getting the basics down.

I'm fully convinced quickplay just makes you worse. I have given up on it. It's just cheese and spam, even in mid elite smash. Playing with you guys is infinitely better practice, even when we choose maybe characters.

Also I won't be on tonight, but I am down tomorrow afternoon.

Elite Smash doesn't mean much, I've played many bad people in Elite and good people outside elite. I think quick play is fine for practicing punish game but it doesn't help much with neutral since, as you said, people tend to cheese and spam. It's easy to beat those tactics but most times I don't feel like playing the way you need to to win. It's like you just have to find the one or two ways to beat their spam and use them over and over until you win since they can't adapt

Pretty much have to spam upB with Kirby against DDDs who only know how to throw the spike ball -_- does get boring fast

Holy water's such fucking bullshit, all you have to do is spam it once someone's on the edge, they either get up into it for literally the most free kill in the game, or you roll and just get whipped for a different free kill.

Quickplay is so bad mostly because you don't know what you're going to get. It could be different rulesets, various degrees of connections, some of the most degenerate tactics that only work on this game's shitty online. Like fighting a WiFi Lucas who prefers to camp at the ledge throwing grabs, pk fire and freeze has been one of the most rage inducing expiriences I had in any video game. Normally tactics like that don't work offline, I've fought people who tried that one me only to get 3 stocked, but because of the online latency and Ultimate's native input lag it makes punishing moves that should be punishable harder. That means that people can get away with doing really unsafe things. It also means certain characters suffer more online than offline. As I said earlier when I play Inkling online I can barely land any throw combos, movement is slower and more sluggish and rars are more inconstant. ZSS is also one of the worse characters to play online imo.

Even so Elite Smash and GSP don't really mean much. Online and offline play are too different imo to make it mean too much. I have a friend who has like 50 or more characters in Elite Smash, I have zero with Isabelle sitting at 5.7m or so, and I beat him in friendlies and in bracket. Here while you still have to deal with the general annoyance that plagues this game's online at least you won't find people playing like degenerates and generally everyone here is at a decent level. And it's also fun too. Ideally offline practice is vastly superior but that's not feasible all the time.

Hero's sooooo nuanced, wow. Really impressive tools like crits for instant 60% on uncharged smashes, kills at 30%, and instant death thwacks

dumbest fucking character in the game, takes absolutely no thought, just throw out down B until you get results, if no results, it's okay because his other specials do 40% each

completely effortless, this isn't even fun. so many characters just have bullshit crutches to rely on
