Like. The dude puts Adam and Eve in a garden and says not to eat the apples.

The devil, who God has casted out already before, tricks Eve into eating one.

God, instead of being understanding that a person clearly of higher power than Eve manipulated her to eat from the tree, decides to punish her and every descendant thereafter for an undetermined amount of time?

like. I thought everyone hated the teacher who punished the class because of a few students?

I feel like the Bible is just constant That shit is really douchey but its okay if God.

It honestly feels like the devil wrote the thing to get people to hate God and people love him anyway.

Religion is interesting. Im shocked more people dont just believe in a creator but not religious anecdotes.

Given he is all knowing, he knew this would happen to begin with.

? what?

I believe in a god, by definition. Something I dont understand made this stuff. Science has no answer to the random creation of things to my knowledge.

But like... the stories in the Bible are so outlandishly hard to believe. Is Jesus needed? At all? God is who deemed us sinful. Why does he need to sacrifice his flesh or whatever? Isnt he all powerful?

The Bible itself isnt even written by one source. The chapters are by different people and arent even God. Take into account how old it is and the countless translations...

in what world is that a reliable source of record?

I dunno. Its weird. In life, stuff like reliable sources or how youd judge people just dont apply to the Bible for some people.

According to the Bible? Not really.

Based on the Bible? He's worse than an asshole. He's basically a warmonger who becomes (somewhat) reformed after having a kid.

For what its worth, some apologists and/or sects of Christianity dont believe that God knows the future because its not a knowable thing according to them.

Which should lead to the line of thinking that if he isn't all knowing, then his thoughts on matters are just as subjective as anyone else's and have no more value than you or mine's and so isn't a being worth listening to so dogmatically as they do.

He then sends that kid down to Earth, who is promptly bullied and murdered by the locals.

I think God (especially in those early stories) had an allegorical relationship to nature. Fucked up shit happens for seemingly no reason so God must be arbitrary and horrific just like the nature He created.

No where in the Bible does it say that God is all-knowing. It's something atheists make believe to get people to hate on religion.

It does though. Repeatedly.

Omniscient
Omnipotence
Omnibenevolent

The three standard traits of what defines God.

All of God's "omni" characteristics stem from Greek philosophy. They were very interested in the idea of perfection, and followed from there the idea that a god must be the perfect being. Therefore, any traits the supposed god had must also be their perfect forms.
