Most of the people who believe it is real are the ones that need any excuse to justify their poor decisions. It's ridiculous. In reality, most other groups have more privileges than whites and get way more opportunities.

Yeah this really isn't arguable. If you are white and American you have already avoided a number of disadvantages in life based on nothing other than the colour of your skin that everyone else has had to deal with to varying extents.

Agreed but white privilege is only saying that everything else equal youre most likely best off being white (in America).

So you could be the absolute poorest person in the country, with the worst life, yet youd almost certainly be better off being white than not.

Yeah, but people in higher social standings like to distract people away from this idea. Its much better to have the commoners fighting amongst themselves than uniting against the wealthy.

I understand where you are coming from and statistically that may be true. However, people arent statistics. Everyones life experience is different, even for those born into the same household. We shouldnt let skin colour determine our lifes outlook.

I agree that when it comes to social progress and helping others we should consider socioeconomic status rather than something as artificial as skin color. Of course because of our nations history those can often be entwined but, like you say, its not an absolute.
