#33: Moving into 2020

I've been putting a ton of work into the database over the past week-and-a-bit, so things are moving at quite a pace - over half of the US scene is now finished. As I'll be working over most of Christmas that means I hope to have North America complete before the end of 2019 and can put that in for full testing.

As I won't be working on anything else in the meantime, this will be the last journal entry for the year. To cap off the year, I'll end with a quick summary of where the project is currently at.

- We're still looking for the release date to be around April; things are progressing very well and so I'm currently very confident that we'll be hitting that projected date.

- Almost all the coding is complete, there's just a few minor bits and pieces to tidy up and the user-suggested products and attributes to add in.

- About 60 to 70% of the interface graphics are done.

- Testing continues to go well and the testers are all giving extremely positive feedback. Based on their reactions and my own play tests, I don't think there's any doubt that the game is light years ahead of TEW2016 and will be very well received.

So, all in all, everything is super positive right now.

A little of both, I guess. The interface leaves a lot to be desired.

My post was a bit of hyperbole. I've never actually purchased the game, but I did give the demo of 16 a fair shake. I started pretty small, but booking my first show felt like a monumental task. I know it's a game I'd enjoy very much if I could get over the hump.

This is what I do -

• They all have a Main Event talent, a Midcard talent, a Tag and CW
• I make 5 story lines. Put the Main Events in one for the Word Title, The Mid-card guys for the US/IC Title, Half the Tags in 1 and the other half in another, and then the Juniors/Cruiserweight titles
• Grab job guys

Then you just start a Round Robin Tournament to crown your first World Champion. I'm currently running my Tag League, so here is an example of how to book your shows -



You have the Main Event for the night, the Tag Matches. That night's main event was between La Pareja del Terror [Eddie and Art] vs The Assassins [Benoit and Malenko]. Eddie and Art belong to Los [Black Cat, Konnan, Windham] and Benoit and Malenko belong to The Demon Army [Samurai, Muta, Nagata], so I make a match between those 6 Stable mates early in the night [3v3]

This will build up your Storyline for all 5 things every single night, and 3 of them will be in the undercards [World, Mid, Junior] and then you'll have your Tags banging it out every night until your Round Robin is done and you book your finals where you can do some single matches between things you've built up on the under card [Muta pins Hashimoto who is the champion, so Muta gets a title shot at the big show] and then the finals for the Tag League
