Question about Veilstone Amulet.
So let's say a play something like a Llanowar Elf while the amulet is in play giving protection to all my creatures till end of turn, then I play something like Genesis Hydra but someone plays a spell to counter the summon of the hydra. Would the counterspell fail or would it work or due to some sort of stack interaction?

The counterspell would work. Genesis Hydra is a spell on the stack that can be countered. You would still get the cast trigger from the Hydra that allows you to reveal cards from your library though.

While a creature spell is being cast it's not a creature yet, just a spell, so an effect like that would never prevent countering.
