I hate those. Ive gone to many of my own. Ive never gone to my SOs work parties, if he has them. Nor has he come to mine. Though thats because I rarely go, sometimes help instead of going (like watching the kids for the party goers), and would invite him if he wanted to go (and I guess I would join him).

I take it you dont want to be there? Does your GF want to be there? How long is the party? And why are there hands on your shoulder?

She wanted me to be here but understands how I am socially and doesn't mind if I isolate a bit to comfort myself. Hands on shoulders because people still do that as a friendly gesture, and it bugs me to no end. I have my own coming at work later, but that I'm excited about

Thats makes sense. You would definitely be excited about your own party. Haha. Its people you know, work with, and are probably friends with. While I dont mind hands on my shoulder, that does seem a bit forward... I just do my best to make it through those...
