My OkCupid swipes doubled once I took any mention of video games out of my profile. Hell, girls interested in video games swipe on me more.

Makes sense though, I avoid people interested in video games and anime too. I can admit a lot of people I met who make that their identity is pretty obnoxious to be around.
most girlfriends don't want to compete with a game console for your attention
they also don't want it getting in the way of your "designated man responsibilities" in the relationship or becoming a $$$ sink

thats really the top reason behind their stigma towards it
the "maturity" issue is actually secondary when we're being honest about it...
because the gaming can pull you away from what women will typically want you to prioritize as the boyfriend/husband
thats especially true when they got babies on the brain, which can make your guy hobbies seem like a competing threat

as a woman i feel its alright to give guys their hobby time cause it helps them unwind and keep sane, which husbands need big time
like i get how it can be super unnattractive if a boyfriend is obsessed with a hobby 24/7, he stops bein dependable
but if he's doing it in moderation while still keepin up with his bf duties, girl needs to chill about complainin over it
if she's still bitchin, she's in the wrong for forgetting that her man is a human being...
