I honestly don't know.

I'm on the fence about this game, friend is trying to pressure me into getting it but I know we'll play it like twice together online. I know singleplayer will be great, too, but I have some other games to finish. And the reviews for PC keep saying it's got some optimization issues which is hard to believe considering GTA5 was great but idk.

It's optimized pretty badly. But the problem is that the online seems to be even more of a grind than GTA with a lot, lot less things to do

I remember when GTA Online originally launched, a month or two after the actual game itself did, and it was pretty barebones back then with a couple of race options, some contact missions and like two or three PVP modes. You could rob stores and I think buy property, customize vehicles, and play tennis and that was about it.

So I imagine they're going to be adding more to RDR Online, but that's just a guess. I did pull up a "100 things to know before you start RDR Online" video and the first 30 tips all just dealt with hunting and transporting pelts... >_>

It's not that it has a lack of things compared to GTA now but rather the setting itself is sort of... not good for things.
Races will be much shorter and most likely horses only. Heists will probably be in. Missions sure but it'll be a bit bland. But the biggest issue is that it's still a massive grind.
An idea might be to look up some streamers on YT and see what they're getting, the more popular ones usually have people donating stuff so you'd get an idea of a reasonably high played character. I still think it's definitely not worth it for online.

That's disappointing to hear. And yeah I imagine it'll get "Battlefield Syndromed" (well, that's how I look at it), when, given the setting, there's just inherent limitations on what you can do, like you're talking about.
