I watched through the series this year and there were some really fucking crazy ones.

I particularly liked the one where this spaceship crew was assigned to deliver a super secret cargo to a remote planet and they get captured by an enemy alien force. And the one with the guy who turns his son into a robot was really fucked and made me sick a couple of times.

That show was fantastic but I hardly ever hear anyone talk about it.

Also I saw an episode of a show that I *thought* was from the 90s Outer Limits but I never saw it when watching through...

The story was about a woman who lived an idyllic family life and then she starts noticing some shady guys are following her and her life starts coming undone. It ends with her waking up from a coma in a hospital, and then injecting herself with an overdose of some medicine so she can go back into the coma and return to her happy life.

I always really enjoyed the 90s revival, and there's one episode in particular I never forgot: it was about a scientist that messes with some micro-organisms and they meld with his DNA, thus 'enhancing' his biology? It reminded me a lot of The Fly, but the one visual in particular I recall is the guy painfully discovering eyes in the back of his head.

Oh that was a cool one. If I remember right it was nanomachines that he was using to cure illnesses, but they started "identifying" other areas for improvement in the human organism and started forcibly evolving him.

I also liked the sequel to the one about the female android assistant.

In the sequel, they revive the project, but the project manager is a dick who abuses his wife and sleeps with the android. And the assistant tech guy had feelings for the wife before she was married, and he winds up killing the project manager but it turns out the wife was also an android modeled after the real woman.

Agreed, so many ended with humans losing or the protagonists realizing they had helped the antagonist achieve their goal.

My favorite one was about a human mining ship finding abundant resources on a a planet with a some seemingly primitive aliens ....

Yup, that's it. And the ending implies he passed on said nanomachines to his lover/wife through intercourse.

I liked Dead Man's Switch, alien threat again.

The beauty skin deep episode where he's repulsed in all other senses.

Time-traveling doctor and Police chick

Inconstant moon -> Sun going nova

Final Exam and Cold Fusion

Probably forgetting a lot of others, but there were some definite stinkers in that series

Lol there were some misses for sure.

Has anyone watched the original series? Started that up, the episodes are also kind of hit or miss. Still interesting what they were talking about back then though.

Outer Limits was always dark. Much darker than Twilight Zone ever was. For real, real dark watch Boris Karloff's Thriller (Stephen King's favorite) - it was like Outer Limits crossed with Alfred Hitchcock.

My favorite is the one where the aliens take a human pilot captive and he gets tossed in with another POW.
They're conducting biological experiments on her to turn her into an alien, and he feels really bad for her, so the episode ends with him revealing the details of a top-secret human attack plan on the alien homeworld, and then she reveals the aliens aren't turning her INTO an alien, they're turning her BACK into an alien and he just starts screaming because he's totally screwed humanity over.

And the fucked up thing is they had a sequel to that too: Aliens won again, they had a secret weapon to unleash on the alien homeworld, turns out they did it to Earth instead

I oved this episode as the guy was a complete idiot to fall for that bullshit, never trust a woman or anyone else in that situation, only try to escape and be prepared to die.

He sold out his entire race for sex and it was pathetic.
