I'm teaching a statistics class this spring and I want to pepper in humorous or interesting clips of statistics or data analysis used in TV shows or movies. Anyone have any recommendations for shows or movies I could check out? Recommendations for specific scenes would be best, but even just general show/movie recommendations could put me in the right direction. Anything that involves probability, sampling, polling, distributions, results reporting, quantitative analysis, charts/graphs, etc. Though nothing like the "GUI interface using Visual Basic" crap from CSI. I don't want to confuse the students further.

I know I've seen tons of shows with scenes like these but now that I actually need to use them I'm drawing a blank. So far the only thing I have found is the Halloween in January scene from Bojack Horseman:

Numbers was a good one. Sorry, it's been a while, so I can't remember any specific scenes, but it's prevalent in pretty much every episode.

Now sure how much of it is just nonsense to the trained eye though.

Mad Men when they talk about demographics is pretty interesting, its not only based on real data but data back in the late 50s early 60s

Good recommendation. I've heard of the show but I've never watched it. I'll have to check it out.

Cool suggestion. I never would have thought of that one.

I've also been looking through episodes of Big Bang Theory, as every now and then Sheldon or one of the guys will introduce some type of mathematical principle and try to explain it to Penny in layman's terms (which could be useful for the class). But most clips I've found are typically more physics-heavy and not necessarily statistics.
