There's a girl who I was close friends with that I stopped talking to a few years back for petty reasons that I think about contacting every now and then. But my stubbornness keeps me from doing it.

Every now and then I want to hit up old buddies but life always gets in the way.

I used to have a guitarist buddy that I played bass with, but I think he got pissed when I said there's police presence at protests to keep them from becoming riots, so we drifted apart.

But it could also just be that I'm very reclusive and anxious and didn't want to hang out very often. Either way I feel bad because he freaking gushed over how much he wanted to play with me, he even said he didn't want to play music with anyone but me, and we really clicked musically, but I'm just not a good "friend" person.

My best friend growing up. It's been over 15 years I feel bad it was my fault mostly hed become a loner since then his family dosen't know what to do and they've reached out for me to talk to him again (the few times we've spoken we got along great like old times) I'm just terrible at keeping content with people in general even family.

Why are we so stubborn?

Sometimes I see things that illustrate how small we really are, how short our time is in life, etc.

And its like, why are we still holding on to the petty shit? Shouldn't we be reaching out to mend fences and make things right rather than keep things uncomfortably wrong?

always. nowadays i see myself as a bad friend because time and distance apart has separated them from my life.

i ask myself why havent i and why havent they...

its tough. sometimes i wish i could stay with them in that time. other times i am glad to have the chance to meet more people.

my classmate died from a heart attack. found out through a group chat of alumni. my cousin threw me into the group chat and i just mind my business silent. my cousin and i were friends and classmates with him during high school. we all were in the same group of friends. we all shared date advice and laughed at each other hitting up girls at the mall. we tried to do group projects together and actually learned from them in high school.

after we graduated we parted ways. military and college for us. he stayed in touch with my classmate while I didnt. classmate always asked about me to my cousin. cousin and i were always together back then and this classmate not seeing me with him always threw him for a loop.

now its too late for me. all that time gone as I said goodbye to my old classmate.

My childhood bestie actually talked to my aunt at his job and asked her to give me his number to reconnect, but I didn't want it. Same with Facebook, friends from school reached out in the past, but I don't want to reconnect.

My biological father is even trying to contact me after 29 years and I just don't want him involved in my life. I don't want anyone involved with my life because I just don't belong with people.

I think inside most of us hate conflict and confrontation. It's the build up, but no one there to require you to do it, so it's easy to push off. We all "have a lot going on" and other excuses constantly. But it really has a lot to do with the scenario and how much you can take or deal with before deciding that permanently enough is enough.
