I still like the original Metroid more than Zero Mission, warts and all. Zero Mission just feels like a cheap rendition of Super Metroid, but doesn't have the design chops. So I'd rather just play Super Metroid.

As for the original Zelda, pretty much a perfect game.

The thing about Metroid between Return of Samus, Other M, and excluding Prime Hunters is that every single one of them is a 11/10 game. Every single one is arguably better than the other.

LoZ holds up. You dont need a guide, aside from finding the final dungeon of the second quest.

Metroid is still fun as long as you dont die often. Its very punitive, the way the game wastes your time filling energy tanks back up. Cant blame anyone for putting it down because of that. Still, great game if you come at it with enough skill and patience.

There's actually 3 of them total but they're all in the second quest. If you don't have 50 rupees when you enter the room you're forced to choose the heart container.

NES metroid is really not good imo

the password system does not interact well with the health system, movement and combat both feel bad, and the map is overly large and extremely repetitive. Just go look up a map of kraid's area and you'll see it's basically just the same 3-4 rooms glued together endlessly
