No one wants to be a dishwasher. Some people have to get what they can get.

If you're capable of being a dishwasher and can't find other work, yes.

Not quite. It's just I've been doing it for a while and would like to do something else, but I'm not particularly interested in moving up in the kitchen hierarchy... But all my experience is in that basket.

Dishwasher is fine, it's just hard to live on your own or whatever... Can't do it forever.

Only if you still expect them to pay you for it lol

But if you're not working for a significant time and turning down jobs that could help just because they are "beneath you", then yes

I don't know you though :O

But, that's just how a market transaction works.
If the offered pay doesn't seem worth it to you for the work involved, then it probably isn't. Don't bother.

Obviously, if you don't need the job then wait for something better.

If you need the job, then the "worth it" factor will shift significantly. It's not a quantitative index.

I enjoyed being a dishwasher, I just hated the pay

You have mindless shit to do with your hands all day and you can be in a flow state

Respect. Its a much harder job than people think. I did it a lot in high school and tried to dip back in during college. Youve gotta be in pretty good shape for a job like that.

How long have you been doing it?

I have about 4 years total experience as a dishwasher, would probably be a lot more if I wasn't in school for such a goddamn long time.

Have you considered getting out of the restaurant game all together? Its a pretty brutal scene in the back of the house. With four years of plugging away at being a dishwasher most manual labor jobs would be happy to have you.

Haha yeah... That's- that's kind of where the entitlement part comes in.

It's honest work, but not very exciting or lucrative.

If you want more, then yeah that's perfectly natural. It's only be entitlement if you thought yourself better than people who wash dishes for a "living"(Because let's be real, they don't pay well), and never had to work a job like that in your life.
