This is spur of the moment type stuff. That shootout will haunt those police officers for a long time. You can't call in swat when shit like that happens. If they just followed the ups truck it could of went into a more populated area and they'd of taken more hostages.

Well, I'm not an expert on the topic, but when somebody is shooting at you, it's a really good idea to take cover behind the first thing you can, because standing out in the open is a great way to get filled full of lead

Dont police receive training to be able to accurately shoot their weapons without hitting innocent citizens?

Also, people are allowed to be armchair quarterbacks when it comes to public fucking servants because we pay your salaries with our tax dollars.

These are people who have already displayed willingness to threaten and shoot police and civilians. There is no situation where letting them go is less dangerous than confronting them.

Good thing the cops added more bullets to the situation and placed themselves in positions that increased the chances of criminal bullets hitting innocent civilains.

If I'm on the road, robbers aren't going to be fucking shooting at me unless someone is shooting them.

I would let armed robbers go if they hadn't killed anyone if the alternative is "collateral damage" in the form of innocent lives. I think it's morally repugnant to kill an innocent person to be able to kill a criminal. I have the same view on drone strikes and civilian collateral damage to kill terrorists. I think it's reprehensible and there's nothing more you can say to me to change my mind on that. just want to make that clear so we don't go in circles
