Why didnt I know about this? I was always bummed that I couldnt play this masterpiece on the Wiis virtual console. Some levels were fucked up on the PC emulator (the ones that had those floating puffball enemies that made you drunk if you touched them). Im very happy about this.

Yeah and it's on the SNES classic too. Actually super weird that it didn't come out on the original VC
Yeah, and I don't think the original Star Fox was on the VC, either.

May have had something to do with the SNES hardware that those games used that couldn't be properly emulated on the Wii.

Awwww Poochy! I remember playing with that pup when I was like 7. Shame that he only shows up for one puzzle. He could have been utilized a lot more.

But I could have sworn that the area you use him in was a little more grand than this. You just use him to hop over one little obstacle and then youre done with him. Lol.

It wasn't a technical thing, SuperFX chip games have been emulated since the late 90s, it was for some time a copyright issue as UK developer Argonaut developed the chip and no longer exists, but the chip contained their proprieatary code. Presumably at some point Nintendo obtained use of it.
