I'm a much better network engineer having worked here. My skillset has grown by leaps and bounds. I went from "Yeah, I have a CCNP, but not much actual hands-on experience. Mostly remote work," to "Yeah, I have a CCNP and I've built the vast majority of a company's network."
It has been a ton of hard work... Lots of long hours, especially between April and November of this year... The new company is much larger and has a much better support infrastructure. I'll only be on call once every 4 weeks. In the times when I'm not on call, I'll be able to leave work at the office and do whatever without worrying about work calling. So I think this is the right decision, even if I am still struggling with it mentally. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

it is tough to say goodbye if you liked where you worked or grew an attachment to people. I've had to do it twice now
