It's a good game, and I've gotten some enjoyment out of it. But is it just me, or does it get to be a predictable, repetitive, chore of a game?
I'm right at the end, and frankly I'll be glad when it's over. The mechanics are rinse and repeat, over and over again.
The most glaring issue with the game is that there is basically no upgrading nor any reward or progression with your equipment/skills. Gems? Why am I collecting them? What's the point? I stopped caring about them.
Money? Seriously, there doesn't seem to be any purpose at all. Sure, you can buy an extra life (the dog bone) from the professor, and that seems to be about it.

Again, this isn't to say I haven't found some aspects of the game fun and enjoyable. But it certainly has some shortcomings that make it disappointing.

I loved the game but I wouldn't be upset if it ended like 4 or 5 floors earlier. Though gems, Boos, and achievements have a cosmetic reward for finding/completing them all, and you get a different rank at the end depending on how much money you beat the game with.
