coz if so it doesn't seem to be used right. People just apply it to anyone defending a particular person or point of view, but Stan wasn't even necessarily defensive of Slim, he was more like obsessed with him and upset that Slim didn't respond to his letters

Some ppl think it's a play on "stalker" and "fan" but it really only comes from the dude in the song just being named Stan.

I can't see the name Stan without thinking about it in Randy Marsh's voice, like when he's acting sickly and asking Stan to get him more beer in the bloody Mary episode or when he's calling out for Stan incoherently in the blockbuster shining parody episode, like "Staaahhn!"
