While doing some Christmas shopping, I came across a huge Godzilla toy based off of the recent American movies. I had no temptation to buy it, but I'd have probably gifted it to my younger self if I had a time machine.
Of course, if I'd owned a toy letting me know exactly what Godzilla was going to look like in the future, it would have created an expectation no movie could have lived up to. --- It's Christmas at ground zero. The handheld computer games we had when I was a kid were fucking awful. Beeps and boops as you moved a sprite around the screen, and not much else. Then we got the first Gameboy. 4 AA batteries got you about 10 hours, which was actually pretty good (back then).

I feel that's a bum rap considering the westernized versions have all left a lot to be desired.
