Even if people shower the day of, some can't help it.

See, the sweat you produce when under stress (i.e. competing in a tourney) is thicker and had different compounds than normal cooling sweat, which makes it produce stronger body odor.

In addition to that, a lot of people that compete in these things are eating on the go, in other words, stuff like fast food. Your diet and what you eat can affect your body odor and make it stronger as you sweat it out.

So take all that and add it on top of cramming a large number of people into a space with lots of electronics, which makes it pretty warm, and, well, yeah. It's gonna be pretty smelly lol.

Probably the only way to eliminate it would be to give all entrants a prescription strength antiperspirant the day before, since showering beforehand won't accommodate for the stress/diet elements of the stank.

There are two odds you're playing, here.

One is that there are enough people who practice good hygiene, but have ultra powerful stank compounds breaking through their deodorant, that the place reeks of pit.

The other is that these motherfuckers need to fucking shower.
