There's also a line of dialogue that was changed to refer to Mothra as "the Thing" in order to justify the new title, Godzilla vs. the Thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulGrhLbusZ8 The American distributors decided to forgo mentioning Mothra and treat it like Godzilla was taking on a mystery opponent. --- It's Christmas at ground zero.
