My MOBO is shorting all over the place and has been due for a replacement.
RAM has to fit the MOBO, so that's on the list too. My processor seems to be working fine still, but it's as old as the MOBO which is like 7 years, and I've been told it won't travel to a new one without complications? The options seem to be either find a motherboard with the same socket type as your old cpu or start from scratch on a new more current generation build. If you can find a board with the same socket type as your cpu it would most likely support the old ram as well. At 7 years old it is probably time to move on though.

At 7 years old you're not going to find too many mobos that are any good. Upgrade to a Ryzen if you can. They're faster and cheaper than anything Intel will have in at least a year, so it'll last you a long time.
