(Actually Huel but translating for y'all)

Just as a kind of lunch replacement for those times I don't bother to bring lunch into the office

Pros:
- feel morally superior
- incredibly cheap
- incredibly easy

Cons:
- People ripping on you all the time
- Ripping massive farts a lot
- People acting weirdly defensive after they ask you what it is
- the melancholy of knowing you could have had real food but instead you chose a sad milkshake

Lol how

The entire marketing gimmick behind this stuff is that it is:

- vegan
- nutritionally complete
- precise amounts of every thing your body is supposed to need
- makes calorie counting a walk in the park

So maybe I should have just said "superior", since I don't want to get into a weird CE argument about veganism

I'd love to try the soylent products. Don't make enough to justify buying it, though.

I'm not 100% on Soylent, but Huel (UK ripoff) works out cheaper than actual food, for me.

Like a "meal" is about 1.50.

So yes, the bag is expensive, but that's gonna last you at least a month.

I dunno exactly how it's like over there but I remember looking up similar products here and they make their cost appear lower than it is by mentioning a stat like this and hoping that you don't realize it requires 6 "meals" per day to actually get enough food

I always keep a couple in my car. Makes life way easier for when I do Uber. Way cheaper than eating out. Not to mention it's quicker. Still when given the opportunity I rather actually eat so I pack a lunch. Liquid diets just don't satisfy in the same way solids do.

The maths is quite easy to work out since the amount of food is very easy to measure.

3 scoops is a "meal" of around 450 calories. So basically I could hypothetically drink 2000-calories a day on this stuff for 6. Which is very cheap all things considered. No electricity required either, so you'd be saving on the cost of running the oven, boiling the kettle, having the gas on, etc. That's a month of food and no electricity spent to make it for what, $200.

For myself living on it full time sounds like hell so I'm just content to replace some or most lunches at work with it. It gives me an extra half hour at lunch too since I don't need to prepare or shop for anything.

Based on what I've read, Huel is rice/pea based rather soy.

Soylent 1.6 was also rice based and I much preferred it to the current formulation, so I'm curious as to how it tastes. Might order it.

But I got really sick after living off of it. But also it might not have been the soylent.

Soylent Vanilla and Chocolate are great, and I usually feel better after drinking one of those than I do eating a meal around the same calories. I can't have too many though, I ate nothing but soylent for several days and after a while it got pretty rough.
