I own both now, but I havent got far into 4U.

I think Im going to get into GU instead, though. My friend is getting a Switch soon, so I can play with him on there if I can convince him to get into MH. Plus holding the pro controller feels so much better than the 3DS, not to mention controls much more intuitively. Then theres being able to play on the big screen, improved graphics.... GU just seems to beat out 4U in every way except (from what ive heard) content. Am I missing out on a lot by playing GU instead of 4U?

GU has more content than 4U too, it's a better game in every way.

There are a select few monsters from 4U that dont return for GU, but it's very few

GU definitely has the better roster. Until World catches up with some old mainstays, GU is the definitive MH experience imo
