Its different because I dont intend on trying to date/seduce her, but Im being an asshole to her and I dont want to.

i had got some hints that she liked me. I think shes cute as hell, so I flirted with her a little bit. After I thought about it, there was no way I could ever be with her. So in order to not lead her on, I kind of avoid her. Actually, theres no kind of. I avoid her. Shes definitely noticed it at this point, and I feel bad because she didnt do anything wrong. In fact, she DESERVES to have a great guy flirt with her. But I cant be that guy. But I dont really know how to engage in a conversation with her other than flirting. So avoiding her has been the tactic I stick to lately. Thats really rude to her because... she would like it if I talked to her.

so do people who are good at small talk or ice breakers have any suggestions?

Why not talk to her in a normal non flirting way? If you don't want to be with her, there's no reason not to make a new friend.

If you've been flirting, there's likely some common ground you can talk on without that
