I busted the right analog on my XBox One controller so I was wondering if this would be a good replacement.

came out to ~$13 US with shipping and tax but probably still worth it I'd imagine

To be clear I do think it's a very fun thing to play around is, problem being that if you want to really take full advantage of the hardware you spend more time tinkering settings than you do playing your videogame. Things may have gotten better since then but as an early adopter I recall the most popular/upvoted control schemes (which can be uploaded and shared through big picture mode) just weren't very good and frequently made odd programming decisions or even were flat out mistaken or broken.

I'll say the idea of it is still cool but once the novelty wears off it's not a plug and play replacement for an Xbox or Switch controller. Had a fine time playing Dark Souls and even Saints Row 2 but it really sucked to play Arkham Knight with it.

And again the build quality feels cheap, a reviewer (I think IGN) was ridiculed for saying it felt like plastic since yeah all controllers are plastic but you see what he means when you hold it compared to the Switch controller, it's noticeably less premium. And then the front of the controller is glossy and the worst fingerprint magnet I've ever owned. On a CONTROLLER.

The back paddles are a cool idea but it can be easy to squeeze and accidentally activate them. It does have wicked sick dual stage triggers, though the range of motion is less than on Xbox. Its most impressive feature to me is not the touchpad joystick but rather the gyroscope, which came out before the Switch pro controller and can be programmed to activate at a button press and correspond to mouse movement. That gyroscope is way better feeling to aim precisely with than the touchpad. I operated the Wii cursor in Mario Galaxy 2 using the gyroscope.

So does this wirelessly connect to your tv without the steam box? I have one but its just annoying to use.

Well I just busted out my Steam Controller by chance, for GTA. I had it in my head that you could turn off the Xbox One home button light through Steam, but apparently that feature is only available for literally every other controller. It's so bright in my dark room that I'd rather use the Steam Controller.
