I have 1 of each like a block away.

Dollar General pretty much kicks Family Dollars ass but either one is high on a lot of shit compared to a real grocery store.

I go to my DG all of the time because it is literally one turn outside of my apartment complex.

I've never seen a DG next to a Wal-Mart. I've seen one next to the Dollar Tree but not DG.

that is sorta dollar general's business model, opening up stores in smaller towns because customers have no choice

Personally I used Everything's A Dollar back in the 90s.

But I use Dollar Tree, Dollar General or Family Dollar depending on what's more convenient at the time.

There's a DG like 2 minutes from my house, before I have to get on any main roads. I go there often to grab household things when we're low or unexpectedly run out like trash bags, tp, milk, etc.

I have 2 Dollar Generals within 5 minutes of my house. They're pretty convenient for household items, candy, hair products, etc but their food sucks.

I take advantage of the Saturday $5 off $25 a lot at Dollar General. I get most of my laundry and cleaning stuff there.

Dollar General is my source for playing cards. Family Dollar sells garbage plastic cards and also go way higher with their prices in general.

I don't have any Family Dollars nearby. I've been a couple times but it seemed more or less like the same thing as Dollar General to me.

There's a Dollar General on my way home from work and I stop in there to get certain things that are super cheap there. It's a pretty good store with lots of options.

I used to buy clover valley soda all the time and it usually tasted just as good as the name brand stuff

I worked at DG for about a year in college. I liked it. My store closed down a couple of years ago - a gym opened up in the same plaza and there was never parking available for DG so people would go to the other one like half a mile up the road, which is still open. I get all our bathroom supplies there.

I don't think I've ever been in a FD. Dollar Tree is the shit though. And Five Below is pretty great only now they're starting to sell stuff for more than $5 so they need to change their damn name.

I bought some of their clover valley vinegar and it tasted like it was mostly water.

Oh and the DG Health (or whatever they call all their store brand drugs and body wash and whatnot) is all solid too

I've worked at Dollar General for three years now, the store has a fine selection with some of the most competitive prices out there this side of Walmart. That said, the food and frozen food section sucks outside of big brand junk food and they treat employees like complete crap.
