The Holiday Special might not have been perfect but at least it wasn't paint-by-numbers, designed-by-committee, perfectly safe mediocrity. I have been a Star Wars fan for over 900 years. Disney has forgotten what made Star Wars great. Again, I'm not saying the Holiday Special was without flaws. But the worldbuilding on display was far better than anything in the Disney era. And it wasn't ruined by SJWs. Did you notice that Chewbacca's family had to learn things the hard way? And they were all wookiees as opposed to a token Asian woman or whatever. And Bea Arthur was cast for the movie because of her singing talent and not the color of her skin or her identified gender. I have been a Star Wars fan for over 900 years. It's a shame that the best Disney can do with their factory mill products is to reference the greats. 'Member the Holiday Special? Nostalgia bait. Fueled by cynicism and a hatred for the true fans.
