I wasnt always wealthy, I joined the Army to pay for college. I went to a good school and made some good career moves. Im now 31 with a pretty strong income, house in California, pretty decent portfolio. Wife and I are not extravagant people but we strive for two vacations abroad per year. This position in my life has made it so fun dealing with annoying boomers (esp. family members). Thanksgiving is going to be great - last year an uncle called me an Ivy Wall Street shithead because I made a joke that Trump voters go against their own interest to line the pockets of liberals like me. The funniest part of his insult is that I live in California (about 3000 miles from Wall St) and do not even work in the financial sector lol
