It's probably the best game I've played this generation.

I LOVED the older games, and the combat plays a little differently, but it's just so fluid and well-developed. It does have action RPG elements with armor-building systems and currency, and it's more open, but I wouldn't call it nonlinear or sandbox.

It's a change from the rest of the series but it's still fantastic.

It's good but something about it makes me super disinterested. I just can't put it on and not feel like Im forcing myself to play it. Maybe one day it will click for me. Iunno

I might get it, I think its on sale for $10 on the PS Store. Id rather have a physical copy tho

No, it has lock-on, you click in with R3. It's not as necessary as something like Zelda, but it's there.

I'm torn between this black Friday sale (which has games like ac odyssey, dmc 5, and gowps4 for cheap) and getting the physical versions that dont have all the additional dlc.

What also sucks is my meager 1 TB ps4. I only have 50 GB left! Since when did 1 TB seem so little...

Coming in as a fan of the series, I initially found the combat a bit slow, but as you gain new abilities and start improving your equipment I enjoyed it a lot more. In general it took me a while to really get into the game, but overall it was worth it and I'd recommend it.

there is a lock on, its kind of like dark souls without the stamina bar. surprisingly its like the old god of war games, you do combos on enemies and then roll out of the way or counter them when they're about to attck

Best Buy has the standard edition physical on sale for $10, same price as the PSN sale.

As others have said, it starts out a little slow because the axe is just an inherently slower weapon than the blades were in GoW1-GoW3. As you gain more skills with it though, combat speeds up and it ends up feeling very similar to the original titles.

I played a couple hours and felt the same way. Came back a year later and now its a GOAT-tier game to me. So there is hope.

With Black Friday coming up, you could look into getting an external hard drive for it. Its what I did when my 2TB was full

Those were the first two I played when I got a PS4 earlier this year, and then Horizon after them. Those are pretty much PlayStation's big three exclusives. All are fantastic.

Grabbed it off the psn store for $10. I've read/heard nothing but good things about it but never got around to playing it. It'll be my first GoW game.

Wtf, how did I forget that was an exclusive? I just got finished playing it literally last week and just have the chalice dungeons left.

Probably the best FromSoftware game.
