just pre-ordered the next set which is based on the black eagles house of three houses.
Hopefully they make a set of each house because I want more Dimitri variants.

I pulled this card in the last booster box I got in September:

I'm interested in Cipher since I'm a fan of Fire Emblem and would possibly start buying cards and playing it if the game was localized in English, but unfortunately it's not and probably won't ever be, so I won't. I don't know how well the game is balanced though, but I hope it's fairly well done because if it's not it can really hurt the longevity of the game. I also love some of the artwork. Besides I'm heavily invested in Magic The Gathering already as is and it's hard enough keeping up with and buying all of the new, worthwhile products and reasonably priced cards that are released.

I only buy it for the artwork. It's not worth investing time to learn japanese just to play a card game. Plus, I would have no one to play it with.

It's just something cool looking to collect for me. I've only opened 3 boxes before now

Personally I need more than just beautiful art to justify my purchase, but it's cool that you're a big enough fan that you'll purchase foreign merchandise of something you enjoy, especially since it helps support the series. I don't think you need to learn Japanese to play Cipher considering there is a Cipher database online that has English translations for the cards. I mean learning Japanese would make it a lot more simple of course, but you can always refer to the database if you want to know what the cards do and how they are played.

The boxes aren't that much. They are 50-60 bucks. Much cheaper than Magic.

You get a lot of cards and a lot of the good art is on the commons anyway.

Sounds great, and yeah that is ALOT cheaper than the usual price for MTG booster boxes. Still, I'm in the same situation and wouldn't have someone to play the game with, or at least someone who isn't patient enough to learn the game and how the cards work from a database.

They're neat. They have 19 sets right now and each set is based around certain games.

And there are a bunch of cool secret rares, signed cards etc that you can get and it seems like I got really cool rares in every box.

I love card games but I want English I don't understand Japanese.

japan has a ton of collectible card games like this and from my experience playing a few of them they tend to be not very good

the art is pretty sweet though
