Current Events > So like sometimes my new PC just won't boot.

It turns on as in the LEDs come on, the fans start running, all the lights appear to come on but it just doesn't post

So I have to like turn it off and on a couple times until it finally posts.

It's only happened like 3 times since I got it, but each time it has been kind of worrying. I'm thinking of just sending it back to newegg if it happens again.

It also won't ever boot out of sleep. I always need to restart it.

did you put it together yourself?

cause it sounds sorta like a power issue, maybe? like your PSU isn't supplying enough power. I doubt that's a possibility if you bought it pre-built tho

No, normally I do but the price was about 300 less for this prebuilt than if I had built it myself.

I kinda had this problem with my PC. I made sure everything was plugged in tight. That seemed to work for me. But for me everything would happen as you say except one of the fans wouldn't turn on.

See I thought that too but I feel like there would be other issues that would pop up at some point by now. It's been running Red Dead Redemption 2 without any issues, everything I use it for has been fine. It's just this sleep issue and the occasional difficulty in getting to post.

And from what I'm reading, the sleep thing might be an issue with Windows 10 in general. That wouldn't really bother me too much.

it's probably the motherboard then but who knows how that thing works. any one of those capacitors could fuck the whole thing up

This last time it was refusing to post at all, so I did open it up and check all the connections and after that it started firing up every time.

Maybe I need to just lay it on it's side or something? I don't know what would cause the connections to keep coming slightly loose cause I've never had that happen before.

Well I have until February to return it so I guess if it happens again I'm just going to get a refund and build it myself.

Today it had two uncorrectable errors in a row so I'm just returning it to newegg, if I am going to deal with troubleshooting I might as well build it myself.
